Allis Blog for the Everglades!
Hey Everybody! I hope that this blog finds
everyone healthy and well. On This trip we all went to the Everglades National
Park!! And paddled 4 leagues!! It was totally amazing and incredible to be in
such an amazing experience!
On this trip I
also learned a lot about myself and who I am (time that I really needed).I
learned things that i didn’t even know! Like that I was capable of being such
an amazing friend and leader. So basically I learned some new things about myself
and also re-learned others.
For
instance one thing that I re-learned was that I am strong and persistent. One
example of this was paddling. Sometimes when my body would ache and would get
tired. I would just want to give up and just sit in the canoe and just sulk and
not move. But then I would realize that that really wouldn’t be fair to my
teammates and so I would just keep going put on a smile and make it through
another very long day, and
try and keep my team positive.
Another thing I
learned is that I am very good leader and that I can just step up and pick up
all of the slack that the team puts down. An example of that was when
everyone was tired and I just put up the
tents and put the stuff together. I worked with members of the group who were
going through a hard time and just didn’t want to move and I helped them get
back up onto their feet and keep pushing on.
I just wanted to
say thank you to everyone in this group for putting up so much effort and doing
such an amazing job!! WE are totally better than Outward Bound! Loves you all very much.
Best Wishes,
Allie Carson Bridges
Just read this blog, Allie, and wanted to say how lucky Josh is to be your team mate. your attitude about helping others even when you were tired was amazing. Hope you find out more things to be proud of yourself while at SOAR!! Take Care, Denise (aka Josh K's Mom).
