On this past expedition, we went to the Everglades. In the Everglades, we went canoeing, swimming, and saw alligators, maybe some crocodiles too. We also stayed in a Chickee, which is basically a little platform on stilts above the water. Maggie kept saying that it was floating but it really wasn’t. There were some items dropped through the cracks of the Chickee, It was kind of funny T.B.H. (to be honest). It was also kind of sad because we lost one or two tent poles as well.
Dan forgot ALL of his tent poles and had to use the sticks he found at the camp sites we stayed at. At the last two or three campsites we stayed at he used some of the paddles. =?{bàX?{D ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ahhhh my god that’s funny. Lol. We have some broken tent poles now. Not going to say why (not because it was me (because it wasn’t) but yeah, pretty much.
In school we learned about the Seminole Indians who were native to the Everglades. It was a fun subject for me because I’m part Native American Indian. I'm not sure what tribe I am from but I do know that I am not a Seminole. Eh oh well. Hey mom, if you could send a letter saying what tribe I’m from that would be great=J. We saw two bald eagles and several ospreys, one was carrying a cat fish in its talons.
All in all it was a pretty good expedition. The ospreys, the bald eagles, the alligators and crocodiles, the Chickee, Dan forgetting his tent poles, learning about the Seminole, swimming, getting a good workout from the paddling and just the Everglades in general was a lot of fun at the good times.
Hi JK, aka Josh and Oniko, I loved this blog, my favorite one yet!! The tribe you are associated with is the Colville Indians, which were in North Eastern Washington. I think you are about 1/8th Native American Indian. Glad you saw the Alligaotor's only from a distance. Love ya to the moon and back again, MOM
ReplyDeleteHey Josh:
DeleteYou were fast creating your blog about the trip to the Everglades. I have never heard of a Chickee, but I think I've seen pictures of them, but didn't know what they were. I can hear you laughing about Dan forgetting the poles and what he had to use in place of them. Can't wait to hear about your next expedition. Glad you stayed away from the alligators and crocodiles. Love you lots!!!XOXO
