Peter's Everglades blog

I have learned a lot here at SOAR. The most important thing that I learned was the need to be silent.
Chris told me that he would buy me a snack if I was completely silent until we started paddling. It was hard, but I did it and got a creme egg as my snack. Now I am better at being quiet and not making people feel as frustrated with me for being loud. Being loud also slows down the team by making everyone want to call a group to make me be quiet.
Being quiet really helps me succeed in life. It also helps others succeed in their daily tasks without being bothered by me. I suggest that everyone take a little bit of quiet time every day to help with success in anything because it helps to gather up thoughts.

  1. Hi Peter, Loved your blog, and heard it was your birthday today. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I think SOAR is amazing, and you are learning so much from all of the staff and team mates. Keep up the great effort, and know that silence is golden. Take care, Denise Kuehl

  2. Wow, Peter, that is some really good insight. You're right, it can be hard to be quiet, but it pays off in some important ways (both creme eggs AND not frustrating everyone else). You are such a great kid, and I LOVE YOU! Have fun in the Outer Banks and I'll talk to you soon. (And happy birthday + 1.) :-*
